The mission of the Charity Wings Art & Craft Center is to be an inspiring place for people of all ages to Gather, Give Back and Create; as well as to partner with other charities to give free classes to those who can benefit from the Hope, Happiness, and Healing that art can provide!
How Did Charity Wings Start?
Charity Wings started out as Scrapbook Royalty in 2005, fund-raising for other non-profits through scrapbooking events. In 2011 Scrapbook Royalty started using the name Charity Wings as the organization moved towards mixed media arts.
Starting with the first event in April of 2006 for the American Heart Association Wear Red for Women Campaign, Charity Wings/Scrapbook Royalty raised $2500 with just 14 crafters in attendance. Since that time, Charity Wings has raised over $300,000 for 73 worthy causes. Charity Wings has grown each year from 2 events the first year to hosting or sponsoring 37 events and fund-raisers benefiting 27 different charities annually as of 2013.
The Charity Wings Art & Craft Center
The Charity Wings Art & Craft Center opened its doors April 2013 in San Marcos (San Diego), CA. Partnering with other non-profits all over the world, the Charity Wings Art & Craft Center provides free or low cost programs for their beneficiaries on site or through live streaming technology, providing the hope and healing that only art can provide. Serving as a hub for the arts and crafts community, Charity Wings Art & Craft Center memberships support non-profit programs as well as give members access to open studio time, classes, events and opportunities to give.
